Getting to the Ski Area of La Videmanette

The easiest way to get to the slopes of La Videmanette is via the 8-seater gondola from Rougemont up to the station at 2151m. There's another way up to the slopes of La Videmanette and that's via Eggli, which is one of the local ski areas of Gstaad. Ski down to Chalberhoni and then catch the chairlift and then cable car up to La Videmanette.

La Videmanette Ski Area

The ski area at La Videmanette is only small but does link in to more runs at Eggli, which is one of the 'local' mountains of Gstaad. The natural place to start is up at the top station of La Videmanette, which is at a height of 2150m and can be reached by an 8-person gondola from Rougemont over a 1000m below. There's a mountain restaurant up here and a red slope that takes you down to Les Gouilles. The chairlift from Chalberhoni comes up to this point and there's a cable car back up to La Videmanette. From Les Gouilles there's a really long blue that brings you around the giant limestone pillar known as Le Rubli, takes you down below Rubloz and right down to the gondola station at Rougemont. Alternatively, rather than going down to Rougemont you can ski the red piste (number 83) or the blue (number 82) down to Chalberhoni, this then gives you access to the Eggli lift system and it's slopes.

Eggli Ski Area

The Eggli ski area above Gstaad is ideally suited to beginners and early intermediates with 5 blue slopes, a single red and a couple of short blacks down to Chalberhoni. With the exception of the black run, it's all blues coming down from Vorderes Eggli, with 75 and 76 both coming down and linking into run number 73, which ends a long run down to Saanen. The single red comes down from below the gondola top station and sweeps around through the trees back to the foot of the gondola.
