What we've been Eating and Drinking this Month, 2016
If Snowkings has been on a diet, or enjoying the occasional tipple, this is the place to find out...
December 2016
- Glühwein, Vin Chaud, Glögg, Mulled Win, call it what you want, we've literally been drowning in the stuff since the end of November.
- Chateaubriand. Had it at a pre-Christmas meal at Hassop Hall in the Peak District. Wow ! What a cut of meat that is.
- Jack Daniel's Winter Jack - a nice alternative to the aforementioned list of Glühweins.
November 2016
- Must be real ale month - just discovered Golden Sheep from the Black Sheep Brewery. Rather refreshing.
- Cheese and beetroot sandwiches.
- Health alert - Melons with yoghurt.
- Sharp's Atlantic draught ale. Wow - what a beer !
October 2016
- Leffe Blond. With a slice of lemon in it.
- Corn on the cob with lots of black pepper. And some salt.
- Greggs sausage rolls. True, not exactly healthy. But certainly tasty.
- Erdinger Kristall. It doesn't seem quite right having a clear wheat beer, but you can't argue with that taste.
September 2016
- Beefeater steaks. A Snowking-er had a 10 quid flat-iron that tasted better than a 20 quid one at the gastro-pub opposite.
- Toasties and Paninis. The birthday panini machine is out. Creates toasties like you get on the continent. So this month it's Croque Monsieur's all the way...
- Blue Moon. With a slice of orange in it. Whoever thinks Americans can't make beer obviously hasn't looked passed a bottle of Bud Lite.
