Ellis Brigham
(Online and In-Stores)
There are some real bargains to be had at this time of the year, with decent jackets and gear at half-price if you know where to look. Check out our guide to where you can find the best bargains and save yourself a fortune kitting yourself out for next season. Direct link to Ellis Brigham online sales section |

Snow and Rock
(Online and In-Stores)
Along with Ellis Brigham this is probably Britain's best place for a wide range of top-brand bargains come summertime. The savings aren't quite as good as those you can get at Ellis Brigham but there are still shed-loads of cash to be saved. The timescales for grabbing a bargain are very similar to Ellis Brigham - you need to act fast to make sure you get something in your size. However, the prices tend to drop further as the summer goes on, and if you drop lucky with available sizes/colours then your mate who bought a similar jacket six months ago, but for twice the price, will be cursing you. Peak Performance
(Online)
Unlike many of the online shops that are found on a manufacturer's website, the Peak Performance online shop is home to some proper reductions in the summertime. There are real bargains to be had - we're talking 50% off here, not some paltry 10% discount, and the added bonus is that some of the items you get on their website aren't commonplace on any of the other UK websites either. Decathlon
(Online and In-Store)
There's some sale stuff online come the end of the season but we've found the real bargains are to be found in-store. However, you'll probably find that the choice is very limited (and you'll need to find the sale rail - it's often hidden away in amongst the other stuff - but keep searching ...it'll be there somewhere!) but you can come across some real bargains, particularly for the kids. My two children were learning to ski during the summer at the Tamworth Snowdome last summer and we managed to pick up some really decent saloppettes from the Decathlon sale for just 8 pounds. Even luckier when you consider they were the only two pairs they had left ! Direct link to Decathlon online sales section |

TK Maxx
(In-Store)
As the store is usually selling old stock anyway (even during the depths of winter) don't expect any further bargains of relatively new gear during the height of summer. However, as is the case with TK Maxx generally, you never quite know what you're going to find until you go there. I once struck ski-gear gold as I attempted to waste half an hour as my wife picked through the high-street stuff and I unearthed a Peak Performance fleece for o19 ! Never seen any Peak Performance gear there before or since though, but if you find yourself in one of TK Maxx's stores it's always worth a look. |
